George Beard, Founder

Mr. Beard has 27 years experience as a development consultant and has acted as a "turn-around" executive in the areas of sales, marketing, strategic planning and general management. Mr. Beard's previous clients include Blue Cross (where Mr. Beard designed the central network database system, CIP), American Mutual Insurance Company (managed Systems and Programming Departments), General Electric, Honeywell, AVCO, Fidelity, Prime, iCorp and Wang, among others.

His strategies and innovations have made valuable contributions to many companies. Beard's patented Security System, having card access and a stealthy internal lock, is frequently referenced in security patent applications. In recognition of his contributions in business and industry, Beard was invited to become a Sloan Fellow at MIT's Sloan School of Management. There, and at Harvard University, he studied multi-national production strategy and finance, earning a Masters degree in the Science of Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MSB, MIT). Mr. Beard studied Electronics and Industrial Engineering at the University of Minnesota. He is also a founding partner.

Kavitha Balakrishnan, Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Balakrishnan is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India since 1996 as well as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 2001. She has more than 10 years of experience in both private and public accounting.

Ms. Balakrishnan worked as analyst with Draft FCB specializing in executing of Transfer Pricing agreements between operating units across the globe, evaluating merger and acquisition proposals and assisting in SOX compliance.

Most recently, Ms. Balakrishnan was a management Accountant with MJVI Sdn Bhd, Brunei a joint venture between Petrofac, a UK based international provider of facilities solutions to the Oil and Gas Industry and Mashhor Gen. Contractor Sdn Bhd. Brunei. MJVI is involved in design, procurement, onshore fabrication and offshore installation and maintenance, inspection, vessel supply and management and in the development of integrated performance driven contracts and project management for oil and gas, petrochemicals and power industries.

Les Baxter, P.E., Acting Senior Vice President, Engineering

Les Baxter founded Baxter Enterprises, a consulting firm specializing in the architecture and development of telecommunications products, systems, and applications in 2001. Prior to that, he was employed at Bell Laboratories for 24 years in the Business Communication Systems, Network Cable Systems, Optical Fiber Solutions, and Optical Networking business units. Since founding Baxter Enterprises, Mr. Baxter has consulted with a variety of companies ranging from start-ups to industry leaders. His consulting projects have involved areas such as: product architecture; prototype and product development; product line evolution; and industry standards. Mr. Baxter is a registered Professional Engineer in New Jersey and a Senior Member of the IEEE. His education includes a BSEE from Rochester Institute of Technology, an MSEE from the University of Delaware, and a mini-MBA in Global Business from Penn State. He has published more than 30 articles in technical and trade publications, and is the author of Residential Networks and co-author of Premises Cabling. He has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has made technical presentations on 5 continents. He has contributed to a number of EIA/TIA, IEEE, and ISO/IEC standards and currently chairs the IEEE 1394 Working Group. He holds 8 US patents, with 1 more pending.

Jesse Clear

Jesse Clear is a retired career Foreign Service Officer and consultant in cross-cultural communications and linguistics. His expertise is centered in Latin America, North Africa and the Middle East, the Asian subcontinent, and northern Europe. Jesse's foreign language fluencies include Portuguese, Dutch/Flemish, French, and Arabic. In the Foreign Service, his functional expertise included foreign labor and economic intelligence, political analysis, and counter-terrorism policy. Jesse founded and currently operates a combined internet auction firm, wine brokerage, and web design company. Originally from Colorado, Jesse Clear is a veteran of the US Navy. His early experience included employment as a miner, offshore oil-rig roughneck, merchant seaman and radio officer, and private investigator. In the latter capacity, he evaluated maritime claims, performed civil rights investigations, and was contracted by the NBC affiliate in Oklahoma City to examine forensic and foreign evidence in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing case. Jesse's degrees are from Tulane University in labor economics and from Harvard Law School's Trade Union Program.

Craig Devin

Craig Devin is the president of Devin Design & Development, a technology product development and outsourcing firm founded in 2001. Focusing on digital entertainment media solutions, Devin has led R&D teams up to 160 members on four continents. He has worked primarily in the professional audio and studio electronics sector of the consumer electronics field. Devin has held senior management positions at Gibson Guitar, Behringer Holdings, and is the former president of Alesis Corp. Devin provides consulting services including the development of digital media networking protocols, DRM and secure transaction networks, DSP, acoustics and power electronics development. A specialist in offshore sourcing and manufacturing, Devin also maintains relationships with factories and agencies in China, Taiwan, Singapore, UK, Germany and others. With over thirty years in consumer and aerospace electronics, as a mechanical and electronic engineer, manufacturing engineer and enterprise leader, Devin brings a broad variety of knowledge and skills to his clients.

Arthur Hall

Mr. Hall has more than 20 years of international financial and automotive related services experience as a board director, senior executive and management consultant. Hall served as Managing Director of the International Division of a European-based vehicle leasing company and was primarily responsible for creating and building a global leader in three years to $2.0 billion in managed assets. Mr. Hall led a re-positioning of automotive services businesses, a European business with an America’s joint venture partner, to achieve global leadership and annual top line growth of more than 35 %.

Hall has also developed and implemented operations in more than a dozen countries; arranged more than $1.0 billion in debt capital and $900 million in venture capital and private equity; and completed more than 20 acquisitions or divestitures, totaling $1.2 billion.

As a management consultant with a leading international accounting and consulting firm, Hall managed projects for clients in healthcare, banking, insurance, and oil & gas industries. His experience lies in business development and strategic planning, partnering, joint venture management, new product development and launch, and venture investing.

Don Reed

Don Reed is an extremely versatile engineering manager with nearly thirty years experience in electronics, industrial and mechanical engineering, marketing and sales. As President of EDO Industries, a technology consulting company, Reed has provided electronic product development and business consulting to numerous firms and has served as advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce and the State of Missouri International Business Office. Regarded as an expert in the areas of oscillators, underground utility service detectors, and communications systems, he has designed numerous products in these and other areas.

Previously, Mr. Reed served as Senior Applications Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, and Sales Engineer for RYCOM Instruments. Here he was the sole designer of the Trident submarine's 5307B Sonar Threat Detection Receiver, the best known piece of equipment in the Navy submarine fleet. In addition to engineering, Mr. Reed demonstrated his business and marketing skills as Sales Engineer where he developed annual sales and marketing forecasts and was responsible for $1.8 million in international and government sales. This achievement resulted in him receiving the highest sales commendation given by Ameritech, a RYCOM customer. His responsibilities included new product definitions and market-driven product justifications, specifications, and sales projections. An intensive and versatile engineer, he designed numerous other products including receiver/ transmitter test equipment for underground line detectors, analysis instrumentation for cathodically protected pipelines, frequency selective voltmeter for microwave system testing, universal microwave dish alignment system, electromagnetic interference test equipment, cable TV signal leakage test equipment, and a digital signal processor for audio noise reduction.

Early in his career, Mr. Reed served as an industrial engineer for several vocational training centers. In this capacity he not only taught numerous courses in electronics, industrial process control, and various industrial engineering areas, but wrote grant proposals, developed product concepts and engineered or managed the development of more than sixty projects. Prior to that he served as an engineer for Wilcox Electronics where he designed and developed more than a dozen major systems.

Ray Winn

Ray Winn has had an international career spanning five decades. Mr. Winn is a business entrepreneur with experience in both corporate management and the creation of high-technology and commercial products and processes, serving clients from both the public and private sectors.

Mr. Winn’s direct management experience includes the large scale field technical operation of atmospheric and underground nuclear weapons testing, high speed photography, nuclear submarine program management, nuclear rocket engineering and instrumentation, general nuclear instrumentation and medical instrumentation. His patents and technology developments include medical, Radar, cooling devices, photo chemicals, UV light sources, semiconductor processes, and optics. Total sales for his patented product exceed one billion dollars per year. Mr. Winn’s corporate and related management experience includes creation and guidance of technical R&D programs, large scale test site development and construction, assisting in the merger and acquisition process, corporate image development, and marketing.

While he was with EG&G, he brokered the investment by his company and Continental Capital (part of Continental Oil) to fund KLA, Inc. as a startup. This company eventually became KLA/Tencor (KLA) and it is now a multibillion publically traded company. He was the program manager for the Nuclear Rocket (Rover/Nerva) on the industrial side and managed the camera imaging system for the Viking Mars orbital and Lander.

After retiring from EG&G, Inc. he financed and founded two startup companies, selling one to the Hunt Chemical Group and the other to DuPont. He also co-founded Fine Semitech (Korea)(FST) and is presently a shareholder in that company traded on the Korean Exchange. For his own portfolio, he acquired and developed a broad-based real estate portfolio of office, medical, retail, strip, shopping centers and mixed use buildings in Texas. Mr. Winn has been a NanoLife shareholder since 2003, and until his recent election as Chairman & CEO, served as President & COO since 2005. Mr. Winn is an investor in, and a member of the Board of Directors of, KeepTrack USA, Inc.
