The Safe Passage Alliance is an association of shippers and receivers who are trusted partners in security.

Of the 20 million containers per year entering the United States, over 7 million arrive by sea.

Globally, there are over 200 million cargo container movements between major seaports each year. Over $1billion is lost each day to theft.

Members of the Safe Passage Alliance join by undergoing a screening process designed to create an association of trust. When two members of the SPA ship to one another, they can also gain efficiencies by keeping the renewable security devices (the Katie Bar) at the receiver’s dock. All “key” combinations are refreshed for the next trip.

The alliance also has access to industry-specific trade shows, newsletters, and other proprietary content having to do with shipping security.
